I’m a “zillenial” creative from Southern California with a BFA in Visual Communication Design and a love of all things nerdy and weird. I started DIONYX as a way of sharing my design skills with the subcultures that made me who I am. My goal is to bring high quality creative work to the entertainment and games industries, fan driven community spaces, and the professional minds behind all of them.
Refusal to call myself just one thing has been a running theme throughout my entire life, and that doesn’t exclude my professional life! Being an interdisciplinary creative means I get to utilize all of my talents in order to reach a cool end result. I’m a designer, photographer, animator, video editor, and so much more.
If there’s anyone who you can trust to know and love all things nerdy–inside and out– it’s me. Pop culture runs in my blood, and I know we can make something awesome together!
I graduated with honors from Cal Poly Pomona with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communication Design. I’ve worked as the lead of a small design team, worked as part of a marketing agency, freelanced, and have been the in-house designer for a major nonprofit. I hold a leadership certificate from UCLA Extension and professional certification from AIGA Los Angeles.
I grew up watching Saturday morning cartoons. My favorite time of the night was playing Sonic with my mom on the SEGA Genesis. I’ve painted myself gray and trekked through crowded convention centers in the name of cosplay. I’ve stayed up late playing Overwatch so I didn’t end on a loss. I’ve performed in musical theater productions and voice acted in video games. I’ve drawn and animated my own Vtuber model. I’ve cried from tragic vampire love stories and heartfelt anime romances. I’ve led my friends through great adventures while using nothing but paper and dice. My love of music made my playlists full of metal, hip-hop, EDM, New Wave, KPop, and Soul. I’ve been all over the place.
TL;DR- I’ve watched a ton of cartoons and anime. I’ve been gaming since I was a kid. I cosplay, stream, voice act, and play TTRPGs. I love vampires a bit too much, and my taste in music is a strange, wide assortment.
I’m a Biracial (Black, Mexican, and French-Canadian), queer, and nonbinary (they/them) interdisiciplinary designer.
